In an effort to improve on the supply of electricity in the country as part of the campaign promises made by President Muhammadu Buhari. The Federal Government has intensified efforts towards the completion of all on-going power projects in the country to increase electricity access and generation capacity.

Accordingly, the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) in line with the Federal Governments’ thinking has focussed its attention on the completion of all on-going rural electrification projects spread across the six geo-political zones of the country as provided for in the capital budget allocations of the Agency.

This will be a continues process until a significant progress is achieved towards the electrification of all rural communities in the country.

The pictures below show some of the efforts made by the Agency in compliance with the Federal Government directive for the completion of all on-going rural electrification projects in the country.

Similarly, to sustain these projects, the Agency has continued with the sensitization and formation of Rural Electricity Users Corporative Society (REUCS) an initiative introduced by the Agency.

The REUCS is aimed at creating awareness in the communities on the productive use of electricity, operation, maintenance, as well as protection of the network sited in the communities against vandalism and theft of the electrical installations / equipment.
